"Ruby" my favorite color!!

Saturday morning starts out with Jimmy & I headed toward DV8. With my driver in tow, we arrive, begin our 8:30 for her eyebrow wax and just a little bit of catching up we could do. The next appointment is my favorite, Mrs. Brenda. This lady is one after my own heart. She is loyal, dedicated and one client that I would honestly come in at 4 am and get her fixed. She always arrives with her phone, purse and possibly a drink in hand. We discuss her gran baby's and her recent trip to see Tristan and Simon, and her and Jimmy proceed in their normal conversation.

As we chat, we laugh, and Kristen arrives, sleepy eyed, Amber sets her site on Kristen's chair for her "day"! Amber, not quite awake yet, her and Kristen start their adventure.

Then, after a color, highlights, haircut, the phone rings. Kristen hands me the phone, "Help this girl", so I kinda look at her like she knows who it is. The other end of the line, a sweet voice says, "Can anyone, anyone please, fix my hair?" I replied, "What's wrong?" She replies, "My hair is glowing red" Well at that moment, I couldn't tell her no, not even if I had to leave, I was tired or half dead. I immediately told her to be on her way now.

So, in about 5 minutes, a tall, slender college girl enters DV8 with hair in a pony tail. Of course, I put my tools down, walk over to her and took her hair down. Yes, HOT ROOTS!! Her reply was "ruby" hair. She was so precious, I felt like her mom. I gave her a smock, sat her down and I told her I would be with her in just a moment.

Finished with Mrs. Brenda, set her next appointment, and on to "Ruby" I go. OK, we discussed where she went on Friday, the color she asked for and decided on our next step. Jimmy got her a diet Dew and we were CRAZY FOR COLOR!!!

"Ruby" aka, Tia, left DV8 with a smile, my cell number and a pre -booked appointment. She said she hadn't told her mom about the incident. I hope she talks to mom, explains the situation and mom in turn stops by when she's in Tuscaloosa to meet me.

OK, "Ruby" , make sure you make it to class Monday morning, because your hair is HOT now!!! Sometimes even the most dramatic situations, whether it be scary or unsure, I can say I have the most rewarding career ever.

"Ruby came in with a pony tail and left with a smile!"
